ITINERARIES

Brantome 7.jpg

Five itineraries to turn five nights into the trip you will still be talking about next year.

Imagine a handful of days spent discovering the Dordogne with the people whose company you like best in the world, the markets and the painted caves and the brocantes where someone always finds the thing they did not know they were looking for, the slow lunches that turn into long afternoons punctuated by laughter, the small triumphs of a phrase of French that actually worked. At the centre of it all a château with its great round tower at the end of an avenue of trees that is yours alone to come back to each evening, with hosts who delight in helping you discover the best of what to see next.

Five itineraries

Your week, your way
Each itinerary is self-guided, with full notes, recommendations, and introductions to local contacts arranged in advance. Choose one theme for the week, or follow different itineraries on different days. The five are a starting point, not a syllabus.

The Périgord's relationship with art runs deeper than most. The caves of Lascaux & Villars are the obvious starting points: 17,000 years of humans capturing their environment. But the living tradition is just as compelling. Easels, canvases, and acrylic & watercolour supplies are available at the château for mornings spent painting in the grounds or along the river. We keep an eye on local vernissages and gallery openings throughout the season and will point you toward whatever is on during your week.

THE ROOMS

Five Bedrooms

A 500-year-old château in the Périgord Vert, taken entirely for your group.

Room 1: King bed with full en-suite bathroom
Rooms 2 & 3: King bed with en-suite shower · shared WC
Rooms 4 & 5: Double bed(s) with shared separate full bathroom

Each room accommodates two guests. All linen, towels, and breakfast are included.

DINING

Table d'hôtes, on your terms

Dinner at Manor & Maker is built around a single long table: one menu, eaten together as the light goes off the garden. For The Château Set, you decide how many evenings take that shape. Nights can be hosted by Stephen and Sara, or by arrangement with a professional personal chef, or invite our Le Cordon Bleu-trained partners in from Paris for the week. Table d'hôtes menus draw on whatever the markets and the season offer. On other evenings, we will point you toward the restaurants in the area that are worth the visit. In-house guided wine tastings can be arranged for any evening of the week.

BOOK NOW

Ready Your Besties

The château is yours alone: five bedrooms, the grounds, and no other guests for the length of your stay. Five nights across five rooms, the shape most groups choose, comes to €4,750.

That covers the whole château for five nights, breakfast each morning, the five curated itineraries with our help shaping them around your group, our introductions to the people and places we would not hand to anyone but a guest, and Stephen and Sara on hand throughout. For five friends, that is €950 each, with breakfast and the run of a 500-year-old château. Dinners, tastings, and the rest you arrange as you go and pay directly, so the week is yours to shape. Different stay lengths, and group sizes are worth a conversation.
