Creative Experiences in France
A 500-year-old château in the Dordogne, hosts who actually live here year round, and a calendar built around what each week deserves to be. Guests come from across North America, the UK, and Australia to paint, write, read, speak French, and occasionally dress as faeries. Groups stay small by intention: eight to ten people, the hosts present, and days that move at the pace of the place.
Culture
French Immersion: Language, Cuisine, Culture
Become a little more French. You have the vocabulary. The grammar is there. This week is about finally opening your mouth and using it, at the market, over wine, in the village square, in a place where French is simply the language everyone speaks. Live the culture, savor the cuisine with a professional chef.

Silk Painting Retreat in Dordogne, France
Picture a week given over entirely to colour.
Six nights in the Dordogne, painting on silk alongside René Shoemaker, an internationally exhibited artist whose luminous dye-on-silk work hangs in museum collections, learning to coax dye across fabric until it glows. You will go home with finished silk paintings of your own, a genuine feel for how dye and silk move together, and the rare, settled clarity that comes from time spent using your hands and creativity making something beautiful.
